The Vandals were an East Germanic Tribe. They settled between the Elbe and Vistula. At the time of the Marcomannic War (166-81 AD) they lived in what is now Silesia. During the 3rd century when the Roman Empire was in crisis with many powerful enemies at their borders, the Vandals and their ally Sarmatians did invade the Roman territory along upper Rhine river. In 406 A.D. the Vandals were forced to leave their homes because of the Huns. They headed southwest, crossed the Rhine river, and attacked Gaul. When the news of the attack of the Gaul reached the Roman troops in Britian, the Roman troops decided to act under their commander Flavius Constantine. They traveled to Gaul where the troops joined forces with the Spain troops. The Vandels were finally defeated in battle and in 409 A.D. the Vandals fled to spain. When they go to Spain they traveled across the country destorying everything and everyone in their path. The Vandals where invited into Africa by a Roman warlord, Bonifatius who wanted to recruit them for his plan to take over North Africa. In 428 A.D. the largest amount of men moving across the sea of barbarian peoples were about 80,000 Vandals landing near Tangier. With the fall of Carthage in 439 A.D, the Vandals controlled a major base, which they used to raid all the cities of the Western a Mediterranean. In 533, A.D. the Emperor Justinian sent a large enough army to destroy the Vandal Kingdom. They manage Capture Geilmer the last King of the Vandals, and brought him back to Rome. The Vandals had 8 Kings and they were Godigisel; who was King of the Hasdingi Vandals through 406 A.D. and died in battle in 406 A.D. shortly after crossing the Rhine river into the Roman Empire. Gunderic; who was King of Vandals and Alans in 407 A.D. and died in battle against the Visigoths in 428 A.D. Geiseric; who was king of the Vandals and the Alans in 428 A.D, known as the Rod of God. He died on January 25 477 A.D. after
raising a Germanic tripe for power. Huneric; who was king of the Vandals in 477 A.D. and the oldest son of Geiseric. He succeeded with his nephew Gunthamund and died on December 23, 484 A.D. Gunthamund; who was king of Vandals and Alans in 484 A.D. and was the third king of the North African Kindom of the Vandals. He preceded with his unpopular uncle Hunderic. And succeeded with his brother Thrasamund. Thrasamund; who was king of Vandals in 496 A.D. and was the forth King of North Africa Kindom of the Vandals and ruled longer than any other Vandal Kings other than his Grandfather Geiseric. His preceded was his brother King Gunthamund and his succeeded was his uncle Hunderic. He died in battle in 523 A.D. Hilderic; who was king of the Vandals in 460 A.D. and was next to the lst ruler of the North African Kingdom of the Vandals. Hilderic was the grandson of the Legondary King Geiseric. His succeeded was his cousin Gelimer and died on 530 A.D. on that same day. And Gelimer; who was King of the Vandals from 530 to 534, and was the last ruler of the North African Kingdom of Vandals. He became ruler after his cousin Hilderic. He attack the Roman general Belisarius and his army, but got defeated twice and died on 553 A.D.
